Terms & Conditions when Renting a Car

AGE/LICENCE REQUIRED
The renter and/or authorized driver/s must be in possession of an unendorsed driver's licence to be produced on commencement of car hire.

PETROL
Petrol is not included in the rate. All vehicles leave our depot with a full tank and renter pays for the re-fueling on termination.

SPEEDOMETERS All speedometers are sealed and if found tampered with or disconnected on termination of car rental, a minimum charge of R400.00 per day will be raised. All discounts, long distance, monthly and super saver rates will become voidable. Our rates include VAT, normal maintenance and oil. Rates are calculated on a 24 hour period, from depot to depot. All rates quoted are subject to change without notice.

ONE- WAY CAR RENTALS
Are permitted only if prior arrangement has been made with Comfort Car Hire and is subject to drop-off charge.

CROSSING BORDERS
Clients must obtain a written authorization from Comfort Car Hire, should they wish to cross a state border. None of our rental vehicles will be allowed into Zimbabwe and Angola. A fee of R600 will be charged for all categories crossing the following borders: Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana. A fee of R1350 will be charged for vehicles crossing into Zambia and Mozambique, which will only be allowed for International passport holders. An additional excess of R15000 will be added to your South African excess in the event of damage or theft outside South Africa. The following categories will be allowed to cross the border into Zambia and Mozambique: A, S and B. We could not accept any responsibility if you are refused entry into another country. Any other cross border charges is payable directly at the border.

EXTENTIONS OF CAR RENTALS
Are permitted at discretion of Comfort Car Hire, provided that we are notified at least 24 hours of renter's intention to extend. Failure to notify us will result in the insurance being terminated and also a charge of unlawful possessions could be made.

OPTIONAL SERVICES NOT INCLUDED:
* R100 for delivery or collection within office hours within a 25 km radius from one of our branches
* R250 for delivery or collection on weekends, public holidays and after office hours.
* R1350 cross border fee into Zambia and Mozambique.
* R600 cross border fee for or all categories crossing the following borders: Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana.
* R130 daily young driver charge for drivers below 23yrs
* R200 per rental for a baby / booster seat (0-5yrs)
* R700 per second spare wheel.
One way fee within SA:
* All locations: R700

TERMS OF PAYMENT
Payments are made by American Express, Diner's Club, Visa or Master Card. A minimum deposit plus the estimated cost of the car rental is required at the time of delivery of the vehicle. Final adjustments are made on termination. Deposit only accepted via an embossed credit card.

INSURANCES
By accepting our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) the hire's liability is limited to the car group excesses per incident/accident.

The hirer will be liable for the full damage to or loss of the vehicle in the event of an accident occurring where the vehicle was not been driven by the hirer or other authorized driver/s as nominated on the rental agreement. In the event of an accident occurring or damage has been done while travelling on gravel, dirt roads where conditions are not suitable for the vehicle in South Africa/Namibia, the hirer will be responsible for the full value of any damages and related charges. Any damaged tyres will be replaced at the hire's cost. Radios are not covered by either insurance option.

CONDITIONS OF RENTALS All rentals are subject to our standard car rental agreement which may be changed without notice.

VALET A cleaning valet service of R125.00 may be charged if the vehicle in returned in a dirty condition.
